Commissions
An oil portrait can make a timeless and beautiful addition to your home as well as a thoughtful, meaningful gift for a loved one. It’s a wonderful way to commemorate a special occasion or a significant milestone or achievement.
My goal is to create a piece that not only reflects the likeness of the subject but also captures their unique personality and character.
I am happy to work from good quality photographs and have tips for taking the best photos for oil paintings here.
Process
If you are considering commissioning a portrait please contact me through my contact page or email me at lisa@lisahasler.co.uk to discuss your requirements.
I put together a price based on the size and complexity of the piece, and ask for a 40% deposit to secure the commission.
Once I have a clear brief for the portrait I make an initial sketch to establish the composition, and then progress to the canvas. I can email several photos to make sure you are happy with how the portrait is progressing.
When you are completely happy with the finial piece I will varnish and send it out to you. Please be aware that oil paintings need a few weeks to fully dry before being posted, so the whole process can take at least a month.
