Commissions

I accept a limited number of commissions per year for oil portraits and figurative work.

I specialise in working from photographs - these don’t need to be professional images, simply ones that capture a special moment, quality or expression that resonates with you.

Process

If you are considering commissioning a portrait please contact me through my contact page or email me at lisa@lisahasler.co.uk to discuss your requirements.

I put together a price based on the size and complexity of the piece, and ask for a 40% deposit to secure the commission.

Once I have a clear brief for the portrait I make an initial sketch to establish the composition, and then progress to the canvas. I can email several photos to make sure you are happy with how the portrait is progressing.

When you are completely happy with the final piece I will varnish and send it out to you. Please be aware that oil paintings need a few weeks to fully dry before being posted, so the whole process can take at least a month.
