Lisa Hasler is a portrait and figurative artist working primarily in oil.

Working at the intersection of abstraction and realism, Lisa allows forms to shift between clarity and dissolution. This visual instability reflects the fluid nature of self-presentation, and the constant negotiation between different aspects of self.

As a self-taught artist, guided by intuition and experimentation, Lisa has developed a distinctive visual language for contemporary portraiture that values likeness as well as psychological exploration.

Based in her home studio in East Devon, she works mainly from photos on commissioned pieces as well as developing collections of her personal work.
